This Wednesday was the kickoff for the Affordable Art Fair. (The fair is built around the fact that all artwork is between $100 and 10,000 -- although thinking about it... there was a piece I wanted for $75, but I digress) There was a private viewing party complete with complimentary cocktails and a first sneak peek at the artwork for the guests.
Debra had an 'exhibitor' badge made up for me complete with my name! So small, but makes me so happy. When I walked in and got to go straight past the lines and flash my badge at the door... I tried not to have a huge stupid grin on my face. It just made me feel a sense of accomplishment. Even if I am still an intern. ;)
Funny part of the evening:
I was wearing this dress that I've been getting quite a few compliments on (woot for Bella Ro in Hoboken, Dani.. you know!) So this guy comes up behind me and says "zis outfiit you're wearing iz zomezing special." I say thank you and expect that to be the end of the conversation. To my suprise, there was more and this is how it went:
HIM: Is it designer?
ME: No
HIM: Oh! You made it yourself?!
ME: No
HIM: You bought it at a store....? (sounding quite shocked)
ME: Yes
HIM: Good for you!
And that was the end of it... he just smiled and walked off. HA... WHAT? Did I miss something?
